Feeser’s Food Distributors Celebrates 125th Anniversary
Harrisburg-based company has grown to become one of the largest family-owned and operated distributors in the Mid-Atlantic
HARRISBURG, Pa. — Feeser’s Food Distributors officially celebrated its 125th anniversary on Friday, continuing more than a century of service to southcentral Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic region.
The company began in 1901, when John Feeser set up a small produce stand in downtown Harrisburg. Today, Feeser’s has grown to become one of the region’s largest family-owned commercial food distributors, serving customers across the Mid-Atlantic from its 20-acre warehousing and distribution campus in Swatara Township.
“Feeser’s has been a trusted partner for our food service industry customers for 125 years,” said Feeser’s CEO Michelle Monteith, John Feeser’s great-granddaughter and fourth-generation leader of the company. “From the day my great-grandfather started this company through today, it has always been the relationships with our customers that have guided us and kept us moving forward.”
The company serves restaurants, schools, government institutions, healthcare organizations, recreational and entertainment attractions, and more. Through its vast network of suppliers, Feeser’s delivers over 8,000 products from nearly 400 regional and national manufacturers.
Monteith noted that Feeser’s continues to evolve, offering new brands and products to help keep food service industry clients on top of the latest trends. In addition, the company is investing in best-in-class technology with the goal of providing a faster, elevated level of service to its customers.
